Hi all! You may be visiting this page because you want to learn the piano. My name is Jason Kirby and I teach piano and other instruments in the Idaho Falls area. I have a number of students from Idaho Falls, Rigby, Shelley, Rexburg, and other southeastern Idaho areas. There are a large number of piano teachers out there and it can be difficult to decide who is the best for you or your child. I've been teaching music in Idaho Falls for a living for over 5 years. My lessons cover important musical topics such as repertoire, music theory, scales and chords, reading, improvisation, and ear training. I developed my music teaching skills at the University of Oregon in 1999 where I earned my bachelors degree in music composition. I use what I've learned to teach my students the necessary skills to be a proficient and intelligent pianists all while having fun.

I instruct piano students of all ages. My goal is to make the lessons fun and laid back. Students should not have any reason to be intimidated by the piano. I teach one-on-one and I use the Alfred series of instruction books. I also hold recitals once every 6 months. Slots fill up fast. Right now, I teach around 40 students a week, so get a slot while you can. Happy spring!
